When the kitchen closes, the adventure begins. Residential students spend their evenings exploring world-class cities, bonding with new friends, and making memories that last a lifetime.
More Than a Cooking Camp
Summer Culinary students don't just learn to cook — they live the full college experience. Most of our students will be going on to college soon, and the residential program offers the opportunity to see what living on a campus is all about. You'll have a roommate, you'll have pre-programmed activities arranged by the counselors for when you return from the City Adventures. We have RAs living in rooms amongst the students, as well as the Health Director and the Program Director.going to breakfast in the dining hallResidential students stay in top-tier university dormitories, sleeping in the same rooms that college students call home during the school year.
After a full day in the professional kitchen, evenings are packed with city excursions, friendly competitions, movie nights, and the kind of spontaneous fun that only happens when you're surrounded by people who share your passion.
What Evenings Look Like
City Exploration
Experience each city's best neighborhoods, food markets, and cultural landmarks — students experience the city like a local.can cvreate a small group and choose their own stops - accompanied by an RA.
Movie Nights
Outdoor or lounge screenings with snacks, winding down after a big day in the kitchen. In Los Angeles, we like to go to a movie at the theater where all the red carpet events happen in Westwood, it's so cool!
Game Nights
Board games, trivia, and team challenges that bring the whole cohort together. Some nights, after a long day of cooking and eating and exploring, sometimes we want to just play games, do puzzles, or just hang out with our new buddies.
Social Events & Mixers
Almost every student arrives alone, and doesn't know anybody. That's totally normal, we expect everything that goes along with that, and we train for it.
Sports & Recreation
Campus courts, fields, and recreation centers are fair game — students stay active and have fun between kitchen sessions.

Evening Life by City
St. Georges Residential Towers
Brooklyn Heights, NY - 111 Hicks St, Brooklyn, NY 11201
St. George's Tower is a high-end student residential hall located in spectacular Brooklyn Heights, perhaps NYC's prettiest neighborhood. High-security: is part of all of our programs. Our Tower in NYC has with sweeping views, has a front door staffed 24/7 and every person must swipe to get in. En suite bathrooms: All students stay in doubles, roommate requests are always honored, and in NYC we get en suite bathrooms, like a hotel room. The students can hang out in our dorms in many spaces designed for lounging, watching movies, chilling out. Beauty and Proximity: Our building has a subway stop in it, and it is only two stops to get to the kitchen, abut 12 minutes door to door. Students are steps from Washington Square Park, world-famous food markets, and the energy of one of the greatest cities on earth.

Los Angeles
Loyola Marymount is a top university in the country; the campus is fabulous, and we are right above the beach! It is a quick run to the beach in the evening should we desire to go to the Santa Monica Pier or go along the boardwalk or just watch an amazing sunset.... this is the spot! Students explore one of the most diverse food cities in the world — from the Grand Central Market to the gourmet food trucksbeaches of Santa Monica, LA is a culinary adventure at every turn!

Real Dorm Life
Residential students stay in the same dormitories that college students live in during the academic year — not a hotel, not a camp bunk. Real dorm rooms, real college campuses, real independence. Rooms are rtypically doubles, with an en-suite bathroom.
Resident Assistants staff rooms are intermingled with the student rooms. All girls are on one end, all boys on the other. The Program Director, and the Health Director, are right in the middle. With trained residential advisors on-site around the clock, students have the freedom to explore and the safety net to do it confidently.
